Photoshoot Checklist for Models
Whether you are a seasoned model or you’re about to book your first shoot, it’s always a good idea to review the photoshoot preparation essentials.
Two weeks before:
- Put together your wardrobe. Try on outfits with undergarments you intend to wear. Does everything fit properly? Are there any straps poking out?
- Book appointment at salon and have your hair trimmed and your roots touched up if you colour your hair.
- Moisturize your skin.
One week before:
- Stay away from alcohol, sugar, and salt.
- Drink a lot of water each day.
- Stay fit. Do something physical each day: go to gym, do yoga or pilates.
- Create a playlist of your favourite music to bring to a shoot (optional).
- Iron or steam your outfits and put them on hangers,
- Organize your accessories and undergarments for each outfit.
- Practice your posing.
Two days before:
- Get a manicure and pedicure. Neutral classic colours are recommended.
- If you get a spray tan, that’s the time to do it.
- Keep drinking that water.
- Remove facial and body hair if necessary
- Groom eyebrows
The day before:
- Wash your hair.
- Pack your snack, water, any medications, accessories, high heeled shoes, strapless bra, different colour underwear, your book/comp card, and hang your outfits in your car so you’re not rushing in the morning.
- Get a good night’s sleep.
Shoot day:
- Be available. Ensure your phone is charged.
- Cleanse your face, have a shower and moisturize your skin.
- Wear something comfortable that will fit over your hair and makeup when it’s time to change. A button down shirt or maxi dress dress are highly recommended.
- Arrive with clean, dry hair with no product in it and no makeup.
- Be on time. Please arrive about 10 minutes earlier than your shoot time to ensure you’re ready to go. Due to current COVID restrictions, we allow the entrance to the studio at your scheduled time only.
- Give up control, relax and have fun!
